Job Description
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual seeking to make a significant impact on patients’ lives? BayCare HomeCare is looking for a motivated Home Health Aide to join our growing team in New Port Richey, FL. In this role, you will provide essential personal care, companionship, and support to patients in their homes, helping them maintain dignity and independence. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment for the patient.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any significant changes to the supervising nurse.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate safety techniques and equipment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients, fostering a positive and caring atmosphere.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner according to BayCare HomeCare policies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Required Skills
- Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Florida.
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation with current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care principles.
- Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as a Home Health Aide.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish) are a plus.
