Job Description

Are you passionate about technology and creating optimal workspaces? Best Buy Canada is seeking a dedicated Home Office Setup Tasker with a strong focus on ergonomics and tech integration to join our team in Winnipeg. In this role, you will be responsible for visiting client homes to set up, optimize, and troubleshoot home office environments, ensuring both technological efficiency and ergonomic comfort. You will guide clients through the best practices for desk setup, monitor placement, cabling, software installation, and network configuration, making their work-from-home experience seamless and productive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site visits to client homes to assess and set up home office environments.
  • Install and configure computers, monitors, peripherals, and network devices.
  • Implement ergonomic best practices for desk, chair, monitor, keyboard, and mouse placement.
  • Organize and manage cables for a clean and safe workspace.
  • Install and update necessary software, drivers, and operating systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Provide client education on optimal use of their home office setup and basic maintenance.
  • Document setup configurations and client preferences.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technology trends and ergonomic principles.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with computer hardware installation and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS).
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (Wi-Fi setup, connectivity).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in IT support (e.g., CompTIA A+).
  • Knowledge of ergonomic principles and best practices.
  • Experience with smart home devices and integration.
  • Customer service experience in a technical environment.
