Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Industrial Degreaser to join our facilities team at our high-tech factory environment in Yonkers, NY. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of our advanced machinery, production areas, and specialized equipment. Your work will directly support our engineering and manufacturing processes by ensuring a pristine, contaminant-free workspace essential for high-precision operations and the longevity of our sophisticated assets. This is an on-site position requiring a strong commitment to safety protocols and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and deep degreasing of industrial machinery, equipment, and production surfaces using specialized cleaning agents and tools.
- Follow strict safety protocols and environmental guidelines for handling chemicals and disposing of waste materials.
- Operate and maintain industrial cleaning equipment, including pressure washers, scrubbers, and vacuum systems.
- Inspect equipment and work areas to identify cleaning needs and potential hazards, reporting issues to supervisors.
- Contribute to the upkeep of a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the facility.
- Adhere to a scheduled cleaning regimen, ensuring timely completion of all tasks.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to schedule degreasing tasks without disrupting operations.
- Document cleaning activities and chemical usage as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to understand and follow safety data sheets (SDS) and chemical handling instructions.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of industrial cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in industrial cleaning, degreasing, or a similar facilities maintenance role.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to chemical handling and industrial hygiene.
- Forklift certification or ability to operate other material handling equipment.
