Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Junior Offshore Steward to join our team, providing essential support services on offshore platforms or vessels. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in the maritime or offshore hospitality sector. As an Offshore Steward, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness, assisting with catering services, and ensuring the comfort and well-being of all personnel onboard. All meals and housing will be provided during your rotational assignments offshore, ensuring a comfortable and supportive working environment. This role requires a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a commitment to safety and service excellence in a unique and challenging setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of cabins, common areas, mess halls, and other designated spaces.
- Assist with food preparation, serving meals, and maintaining inventory in the galley.
- Handle laundry services for crew and personnel onboard, ensuring cleanliness and timely return.
- Maintain supplies and provisions in designated storage areas.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate supervisor.
- Provide general assistance and support to the culinary and facilities team as needed.
- Ensure a high level of customer service and guest satisfaction for all personnel onboard.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multicultural environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and hygiene.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift and carry supplies, and stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work long shifts and extended periods offshore.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, catering, or cleaning services.
- Basic food hygiene certification (e.g., Food Handler Card).
- Familiarity with maritime safety regulations (e.g., STCW basic training).
- Ability to adapt to changing work schedules and conditions.
