Job Description
Aspenwood Domestic Services is seeking a compassionate and experienced Live-in Caregiver Aide to provide dedicated support and companionship within a beautiful private estate in Calgary, Alberta. This unique opportunity offers comfortable room and board as part of the compensation package, ideal for a professional seeking stability and a nurturing work environment. The successful candidate will be an integral part of supporting the daily needs and well-being of an elderly principal, ensuring a high quality of life with respect and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with medical appointments.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including laundry and tidying living spaces.
- Offer companionship, engage in stimulating activities, and accompany the principal on outings.
- Monitor and report any changes in health status or behavior to family or medical professionals.
- Manage household supplies and groceries relevant to the principal's needs.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional caregiving experience, preferably in a private home setting.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and reliability.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
- Non-smoker.
Preferred Qualifications
- Caregiver training certification or relevant healthcare diploma (e.g., HCA, PSW).
- Experience with dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to the principal (e.g., French, German).
