Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our busy GP surgery in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or advance their career in healthcare administration, with comprehensive ongoing training provided. You will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient journey. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient appointments efficiently, both in person and over the phone.
  • Handle incoming calls, direct inquiries, and provide general information.
  • Process patient registrations, update records, and maintain confidentiality of patient data.
  • Liaise with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Handle prescriptions, referrals, and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Maintain a tidy, organised, and welcoming reception area.
  • Process payments and manage petty cash if applicable.
  • Support the wider administrative team with ad-hoc duties.
