Job Description
Amentum is seeking a reliable and highly motivated Civilian Driver to support secure federal contract operations at a military installation near New Port Richey, FL. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of personnel, equipment, and materials within the confines of the military base and potentially to designated off-base locations. This position requires strict adherence to all base regulations, safety protocols, and federal guidelines. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to professionalism, security, and punctuality.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including sedans, vans, and light trucks, for official purposes.
- Transport personnel, supplies, and sensitive materials to designated locations on and off the military installation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues or damage promptly.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and records of vehicle usage, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, base regulations, and safety standards, including speed limits and restricted areas.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo as required, ensuring proper securement.
- Ensure the cleanliness and operational readiness of assigned vehicles.
- Comply with all federal and company security protocols and clearance requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and base personnel.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid state Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship).
- Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent navigational skills and ability to follow directions accurately.
- Strong commitment to safety and security protocols.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience driving on a military installation or in a secure environment.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or higher.
- Familiarity with federal contracting environments.
- Experience operating various types of government vehicles.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
