Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Music Software QA Tester to join our growing tech team. In this fully remote role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our proprietary music software, web applications, and customer-facing tools. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and reporting on test plans, identifying bugs, and collaborating closely with our development and product teams to deliver exceptional user experiences for the music community. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for music software, web applications, and related systems.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and usability testing across various platforms (desktop, web, mobile).
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using bug tracking systems.
- Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand project requirements and provide feedback.
- Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Proactively identify potential risks and communicate them to the team.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure that they do not introduce new issues.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, new technologies, and trends in music software and QA.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance or testing, with a focus on music or audio-related software.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in creating clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira, Asana, Bugzilla).
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- A passion for music and familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs), VST/AU plugins, and music production concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Audio Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for test automation.
- Background in music performance, composition, or audio production.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- ISTQB certification or similar QA qualification.
