Job Description
Coursera is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Music Technology Tutor with a strong focus on Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) and various music production software. This is a full-time, remote position where you will provide expert guidance and support to learners of all levels globally. You will be responsible for fostering a deep understanding of music production techniques, software functionality, and creative workflows, ensuring our learners achieve their educational and creative goals. This role requires exceptional technical proficiency, pedagogical skills, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly in a virtual environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personalized, one-on-one and group tutoring sessions focused on DAWs (e.g., Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, FL Studio, Pro Tools) and related music software.
- Develop and deliver engaging educational content, tutorials, and practical exercises.
- Assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, and tailor teaching methods to individual learning styles.
- Answer learner inquiries and troubleshoot technical issues related to music technology setups and software.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in music production technology, software updates, and industry trends.
- Contribute to the development of new course materials and curriculum enhancements.
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and learner performance.
- Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Expert proficiency in at least two major DAWs (e.g., Ableton Live, Logic Pro X, FL Studio, Pro Tools).
- Strong understanding of audio engineering principles, mixing, mastering, and sound design.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching or tutoring music technology concepts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical information clearly and patiently.
- High level of organization and time management skills for remote work.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home office environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Music Technology, Audio Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Music Technology, Education, or a related field.
- Certifications in specific DAWs or music production software.
- Experience with educational platforms and virtual learning environments.
- Portfolio demonstrating personal music production work or projects.
- Fluency in multiple languages.
