Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Shift Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a secure facility setting. This critical role ensures the accurate and timely dispensing of medications, supporting patient care throughout the night. You will work within a supportive team environment, utilizing your skills to maintain medication inventory, prepare doses, and assist pharmacists with a variety of tasks. We offer premium pay rates for this vital night shift position, recognizing the unique demands and importance of your contribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Process medication orders, including unit dose, IV admixtures, and controlled substances.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
  • Perform routine checks for expired medications and ensure proper storage conditions.
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy automation systems, including automated dispensing cabinets.
  • Assist with sterile compounding procedures following established guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with pharmacists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital policies and procedures.
  • Document medication preparation and dispensing activities accurately.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Active Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) from PTCB or NHA.
  • Current Washington State Pharmacy Technician License.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in a hospital or secure facility.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and pharmacy software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with sterile compounding and IV preparation.
  • Knowledge of Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
  • Experience working night shifts in a healthcare setting.
