Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Health Nurse to join our corporate team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. This crucial role involves managing comprehensive occupational health programs for our corporate associates, focusing on wellness, injury prevention, and prompt, professional care. You will operate within a standard Monday to Friday schedule, ensuring work-life balance with no weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to fostering a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide immediate and ongoing care for work-related injuries and illnesses, including initial assessment, treatment, and referral.
- Conduct health screenings, physical examinations, and wellness programs for corporate associates.
- Manage and maintain confidential medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with HR, Safety, and management to develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.
- Educate associates on health and safety topics, ergonomic practices, and disease prevention.
- Administer immunizations, conduct drug and alcohol screenings, and manage return-to-work programs.
- Monitor workplace hazards and assist in conducting risk assessments to promote a safer work environment.
- Prepare and maintain accurate reports related to occupational health activities and incidents.
Required Skills
- Current active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in occupational health, emergency medicine, or urgent care.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation laws.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or COHN-S certification.
- Experience with corporate wellness program development and implementation.
- Knowledge of industrial hygiene principles.
