Job Description
We are seeking detail-oriented and analytical individuals to join our team as an Online Search Rater, with a specific focus on local maps and Local SEO. In this remote contract role, you will evaluate the accuracy and relevance of online search results, particularly those related to geographical locations, businesses, and local services. Your critical feedback will directly contribute to improving the quality of major search engine algorithms and mapping technologies, ensuring users receive the most helpful and precise local information. This role requires excellent research skills, a keen understanding of local search intent, and the ability to follow complex guidelines diligently.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate the quality and relevance of local search results based on provided guidelines.
- Assess the accuracy of geographical data, business information, and points of interest on maps.
- Identify and report spam, low-quality content, or misleading information related to local businesses and locations.
- Provide clear, concise, and objective feedback on search result pages and map features.
- Analyze user search queries and intent, ensuring results align with expectations.
- Stay updated with evolving guidelines and actively participate in training and calibration.
- Maintain high levels of accuracy and consistency in ratings.
Required Skills
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to understand and apply complex guidelines consistently.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Proficient in using web browsers and online research tools.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a suitable home office environment.
- Residency in Australia for the past 5 consecutive years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with local search optimization (Local SEO) principles.
- Familiarity with various mapping applications and geographical data.
- Previous experience in data annotation, quality assurance, or online content review.
- Strong interest in local businesses and community information.
