Job Description

Join the compassionate team at Trios Health as a Patient Sitter. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals seeking to start a career in healthcare or those looking for a meaningful role in a hospital setting. As a Patient Sitter, you will provide continuous observation and companionship to patients who may be at risk for falls, confusion, or other safety concerns. This role is crucial for ensuring patient safety and peace of mind, offering a low-stress environment where your presence makes a significant difference. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous, direct observation of assigned patients to ensure their safety and prevent injury.
  • Remain within arm's reach of the patient at all times, including during transport or personal care.
  • Alert nursing staff immediately to any changes in patient condition, behavior, or distress.
  • Document observations accurately and timely as per hospital policy.
  • Engage patients in conversation or quiet activities as appropriate to provide comfort and companionship.
  • Maintain a calm, quiet, and therapeutic environment for the patient.
  • Assist with basic patient needs under the direct supervision of nursing staff, such as retrieving water or adjusting bed position.
  • Adhere strictly to all hospital policies, procedures, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
