Job Description
Join McKesson Corporation as a Pharmacy Logistics Technician with a focus on Freight & Distribution at our Grand Prairie facility. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of pharmaceutical products throughout the distribution process, from receiving to shipping. Your expertise in freight management, inventory control, and meticulous record-keeping will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our supply chain and ensuring patient safety. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming pharmaceutical shipments against purchase orders.
- Accurately store and organize inventory within the warehouse, ensuring proper rotation and storage conditions.
- Prepare outbound shipments, including picking, packing, and labeling according to federal, state, and company regulations.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for timely pickup and delivery of pharmaceutical products.
- Monitor and track shipments, resolving any discrepancies or delays in transit.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance guidelines (e.g., FDA, DEA).
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and contribute to a productive work environment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any malfunctions.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment, preferably with pharmaceutical products.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory counts and calculations.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically in pharmaceutical distribution or a regulated environment.
- Certification in forklift operation or other warehouse equipment.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding processes and carrier management.
- Familiarity with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and FDA regulations.
- Associate's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
