Job Description

Globus Tours is seeking an experienced and passionate Tour Bus Operator with a focus on National Parks to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to combine your love for driving with a passion for America’s natural wonders. You will be responsible for safely transporting passengers on multi-day tours to various National Parks, ensuring an exceptional and memorable travel experience. We are looking for a professional, customer-focused driver who is adept at navigating diverse routes and committed to passenger comfort and safety. Housing assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate large tour buses safely and efficiently over long distances, including highways, scenic routes, and potentially challenging terrain within National Parks.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, basic maintenance, and maintain detailed logs as required.
  • Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable service to all passengers, assisting with luggage and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the tour.
  • Work collaboratively with tour directors and support staff to ensure smooth itinerary execution and a high-quality passenger experience.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable bus interior and exterior.
  • Manage time effectively to meet scheduled departure and arrival times, adapting to unforeseen circumstances with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, including those with special needs or mobility challenges.

Required Skills

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with Passenger (P) endorsement and Air Brake endorsement.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial passenger driving experience.
  • Clean driving record (no major accidents or violations in the past 3-5 years).
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.
  • Excellent knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in navigation and route planning, including reading maps and using GPS systems.
  • Ability to lift and load luggage (up to 50 lbs) and assist passengers as needed.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and multi-day tours away from home base.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating tour buses on long-haul routes or in mountainous terrain.
  • Knowledge of National Parks routes, attractions, and logistics.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for minor roadside issues.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Spanish, French).
