Job Description
Are you looking to kickstart a rewarding career in healthcare? CVS Pharmacy is offering an exciting opportunity for an aspiring Pharmacy Technician Trainee in Elk Grove, CA. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with no prior pharmacy experience who are eager to learn and grow. We provide comprehensive paid training and support, including full preparation for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. As a Pharmacy Technician Trainee, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of pharmacy operations while preparing to become a certified Pharmacy Technician.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications to customers.
- Learn and accurately perform data entry of patient and prescription information.
- Manage inventory, stock shelves, and ensure proper storage of medications.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Process prescription refills and new orders efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and company regulations related to pharmacy practice.
- Actively participate in paid training programs and study for the PTCB certification exam.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Commitment to completing required training and obtaining PTCB certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service or retail experience.
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
