Job Description
As a Remote Captioning Specialist, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and quality-assuring captions for Netflix media content. Your primary goal will be to ensure accuracy, proper synchronization, and adherence to specific style guides and linguistic standards set for Netflix’s global audience. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong grammatical proficiency, and the ability to work independently to meet tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio and dialogue accurately into text captions.
- Ensure precise timing and synchronization of captions with on-screen action and audio.
- Edit and proofread captions for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation.
- Adhere strictly to Netflix's specific style guides, formatting requirements, and linguistic standards.
- Perform quality assurance checks on existing captions to identify and correct any discrepancies.
- Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively to meet deadlines.
- Utilize specialized captioning software and tools efficiently.
- Provide feedback and contribute to process improvements for captioning workflows.
Required Skills
- Exceptional proficiency in English (US English preferred), with native or near-native fluency.
- Superior grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
