Job Description
We are seeking a highly meticulous and efficient Remote Data Scribe to join our medical records team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing, entering, and managing high volumes of medical data from various sources into our electronic health record (EHR) systems. This is a critical position that ensures the integrity and accessibility of patient information, directly impacting the quality of care provided. The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, strong typing skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe and enter medical information from diverse sources (e.g., physician notes, lab results, imaging reports) into designated databases and EHR systems.
- Process high volumes of medical records efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and data integrity.
- Verify data for completeness, correctness, and adherence to established protocols.
- Identify and correct discrepancies or errors in patient records.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations and company privacy policies.
- Organize and manage electronic files and documents related to patient records.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless workflow and data consistency.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with medical terminology and data entry best practices.
Required Skills
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM).
- Proficiency in medical terminology.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high volumes of data entry with precision.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with data entry software or EHR systems.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- High level of integrity and discretion regarding patient information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or certification in Medical Office Administration, Health Information Technology, or a related field.
- Previous experience (1-2 years) in medical data entry, transcription, or medical records management.
- Familiarity with various EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
