Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Remote Patient Appointment Scheduler to join our dynamic healthcare call center team. In this 100% remote role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a crucial role in ensuring they receive timely and appropriate medical care. You will be responsible for scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments, providing information, and ensuring a seamless patient experience. This position requires strong communication skills, empathy, and the ability to navigate complex scheduling systems from a home office environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments efficiently and accurately via phone and online systems.
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information, updating records as necessary.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, providing exceptional customer service and addressing patient inquiries.
  • Communicate effectively with patients regarding appointment details, preparation instructions, and necessary documentation.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and address patient concerns with a high degree of professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Document all interactions and schedule changes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and service standards.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and navigating multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a call center or healthcare environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or higher.
  • Experience with Epic or similar electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Previous experience as a medical scheduler or in a healthcare administrative role.
