Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Lead to join our innovative team in Ogden, UT. The successful candidate will drive cutting-edge research initiatives, lead project teams, and contribute significantly to the development of next-generation technologies crucial to our aerospace and defense missions. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong technical background, a passion for scientific inquiry, and the ability to translate complex research into actionable solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage research projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Develop and execute strategic research plans aligned with company goals and industry trends.
  • Conduct in-depth scientific research, analysis, and experimentation.
  • Mentor and guide a team of research scientists and engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Prepare and present research findings, technical reports, and proposals to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new research initiatives and funding sources.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product development, and program management.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and scientific advancements relevant to the company's domain.

Required Skills

  • PhD or Master's degree in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in research and development.
  • Proven track record of leading successful research projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in research methodologies and experimental design.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance (US Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or related high-tech industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure research grants or external funding.
  • Published research in peer-reviewed journals or presented at major conferences.
  • Experience with advanced simulation and modeling tools.
