Job Description
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Retail Data Analyst with a focus on Price and Sales, and an understanding of AI applications, to join our dynamic team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in transforming complex retail data into actionable insights that drive strategic pricing decisions, optimize sales performance, and enhance promotional effectiveness. You will leverage advanced analytical tools and collaborate closely with pricing, merchandising, and marketing teams to uncover trends, identify opportunities, and predict market behavior. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong foundation in data analysis, a passion for retail, and an eagerness to explore AI’s potential in improving our business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets related to retail pricing, sales, promotions, and customer behavior to identify key trends and insights.
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards (e.g., using Tableau, Power BI) to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor sales and pricing strategies.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses into pricing effectiveness, promotional impact, and competitive landscape to inform strategic adjustments.
- Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to understand business needs and translate them into data analysis projects.
- Utilize statistical methods and modeling techniques to forecast sales, predict price elasticity, and evaluate marketing campaign ROI.
- Explore and recommend opportunities for integrating AI/ML techniques to enhance pricing optimization, demand forecasting, and personalized promotions.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all analyses and reports.
- Stay current with industry trends in retail analytics, pricing strategies, and artificial intelligence.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field, preferably within retail.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling principles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with a scripting language for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
- Familiarity with AI/Machine Learning concepts and their application in retail pricing, sales forecasting, or customer segmentation.
- Previous experience working with large-scale retail datasets.
- Understanding of retail specific metrics (e.g., basket size, conversion rates, margin analysis).
