Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Retail Pharmacy Technician to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance verification, and patient communication.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking stock, ordering, and receiving pharmaceuticals.
- Manage customer interactions, providing friendly and helpful service, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
- Prepare medication for dispensing, including counting, pouring, and labeling.
- Handle cash register transactions and maintain accurate cash handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support vaccination clinic operations, if applicable.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Florida Pharmacy Technician license or registration, or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic mathematical skills for dosage calculations and inventory management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Proficiency with computer systems and ability to learn new pharmacy software.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ months of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail setting.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through PTCB or NHA.
- Experience with Walgreens pharmacy operating systems (e.g., RxConnect).
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., English/Spanish).
