Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and reliable Salt Spreader Drivers to join our team for the upcoming winter season in Nashua, NH. This temporary position is crucial for maintaining safe access and clear pathways for our commercial and residential clients during heavy snowfall and icy conditions. You will operate salt spreading equipment to apply de-icing agents to parking lots, roadways, and walkways. This role demands flexibility, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate salt spreader trucks and related equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load salt and other de-icing materials into the spreader equipment.
- Apply de-icing agents to designated areas according to established routes and client specifications.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Monitor weather conditions and respond promptly to snow and ice events.
- Maintain accurate logs of routes, materials used, and hours worked.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operational status and any issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and commercial vehicles.
- Physical stamina to work long hours in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to read maps and follow directions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Nashua yard.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating salt spreading equipment or snowplows.
- Experience in commercial landscaping or snow removal.
- Familiarity with Nashua and surrounding areas.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor equipment adjustments.
