Job Description
Join the Sodexo team as a Student Catering Prep professional, supporting our culinary operations in New Port Richey. This role is perfect for students looking for part-time work with morning shifts, allowing your afternoons and weekends free. You’ll be an essential part of our catering team, assisting with food preparation, kitchen setup, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals eager to learn and contribute to a positive dining experience for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
- Set up and break down catering events, ensuring all necessary equipment and food items are present and organized.
- Help maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes and cleaning surfaces.
- Follow all safety and hygiene regulations, including proper food handling procedures.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Collaborate effectively with the culinary team and other staff members to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the catering department.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Punctuality and commitment to assigned shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic understanding of kitchen safety and hygiene practices.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food service or catering environment (even volunteer or school-based).
- High school diploma or equivalent (or currently pursuing).
- Current Food Handler's permit or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
