Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Turret Truck Operator with a strong focus on Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) warehouse operations to join our growing team in Charleston, SC. This pivotal role is critical to maintaining the unparalleled efficiency and accuracy of our inventory management within our state-of-the-art distribution center. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience operating turret trucks in challenging VNA environments, ensuring precise material handling, meticulous order picking, and efficient put-away tasks. You will be directly responsible for operating equipment safely and efficiently, strictly adhering to all company policies and procedures, and actively contributing to a productive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a turret truck in a Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) warehouse environment.
- Perform accurate and timely order picking, put-away, and material handling tasks utilizing RF scanners and our warehouse management system.
- Conduct thorough pre-shift inspections of all assigned equipment and promptly report any malfunctions, defects, or safety concerns.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and established warehouse procedures at all times.
- Assist with precise inventory counts and maintain a consistently high level of inventory accuracy.
- Load and unload trucks as needed, ensuring proper documentation and secure handling of goods.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area to optimize operational flow.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals and deadlines.
Required Skills
- Proven experience operating Turret Trucks (VNA equipment) within a warehouse setting.
- Proficiency with RF scanners and basic understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong understanding and unwavering adherence to all warehouse safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand/walk for extended periods during shifts.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in all tasks.
- Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and effectively as an integral part of a team.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills necessary for inventory management.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current or previous certification for Turret Truck operation.
- Experience with other material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, reach truck).
- Previous experience in a high-volume logistics or distribution center environment.
