Job Description

Join Baystate Health as a Home Health Aide (HHA) with a unique opportunity to build lasting relationships with consistent clients, focusing on one-on-one personalized care. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance, tailored to individual client needs.
  • Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and medication reminders.
  • Monitor and report changes in client's health status, behavior, or living conditions to the nursing supervisor.
  • Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided and client observations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, as well as Baystate Health policies and procedures.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and respectful environment for clients in their homes.

Required Skills

  • Current Home Health Aide (HHA) certification in Massachusetts.
  • Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Physical ability to perform duties, including lifting and assisting with transfers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with elderly or disabled individuals.
  • Experience in a home health or hospice setting.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and emergency procedures.
