Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented UI/UX Playtester with a keen eye for interface design to join our team. This ‘Career Path’ role is designed for individuals eager to grow within the gaming industry, specifically in the areas of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) quality assurance and design feedback. You will be instrumental in identifying and documenting bugs, inconsistencies, and usability issues within our game’s UI, ensuring a seamless and intuitive experience for our players. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough playtesting sessions, specifically focusing on user interface elements, navigation, menus, and overall user flow.
- Identify, reproduce, and accurately document UI/UX bugs, design flaws, and usability issues using our internal bug tracking system.
- Provide constructive, detailed feedback on the clarity, responsiveness, and aesthetics of in-game interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX designers, engineers, and producers to communicate findings and suggest improvements.
- Execute test plans and contribute to their refinement, ensuring comprehensive coverage of UI/UX features.
- Participate in design review meetings, offering a player-centric perspective on interface implementation.
- Stay informed about current UI/UX trends and best practices in the gaming industry.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team culture, always striving for excellence in game quality.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, particularly in visual and interactive elements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear bug reporting and feedback.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- A genuine passion for video games and a solid understanding of various game genres and user interfaces.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with at least one modern game console (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch) or PC gaming.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles and their impact on player experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in quality assurance or playtesting roles within the gaming industry.
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Bugzilla).
- Basic knowledge of game development pipelines and methodologies.
