Job Description

Join the United Parcel Service (UPS) team in West Covina, CA, as a Paramedic Trainee with a dedicated focus on on-site safety. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist certified paramedics in responding to on-site medical emergencies and providing immediate care to injured or ill employees.
  • Learn and apply advanced first aid techniques, CPR, and other life-saving measures as required.
  • Support the coordination of emergency services, including contacting external medical facilities when necessary.
  • Maintain and inspect medical equipment, ensuring all supplies are readily available and in good working order.
  • Participate in safety drills, training sessions, and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Document incidents accurately, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to company and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the safety team to identify potential hazards and implement preventive safety measures.
  • Educate employees on basic health and safety practices and emergency procedures.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current EMT-Basic certification or actively enrolled in an accredited EMT program with imminent certification.
  • Valid state Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds unassisted.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and record-keeping.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Paramedic certification (or actively pursuing).
  • Previous experience in an industrial, occupational health, or emergency setting (volunteer experience welcome).
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
