Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic User Experience Scribe with a strong focus on interface testing to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for meticulously documenting user interactions, observations, and feedback during usability and interface testing sessions. Your work will directly inform design iterations, product improvements, and ensure our digital experiences are intuitive and accessible. Key Responsibilities
- Observe and record user behavior, expressions, and verbal feedback during usability testing sessions for various software interfaces.
- Transcribe raw test data, interview notes, and workshop outputs into structured, actionable insights and reports.
- Synthesize qualitative data to identify common themes, pain points, and opportunities for improvement in user interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with UX researchers, designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of testing outcomes.
- Assist in the creation of user stories, journey maps, and empathy maps based on collected qualitative data.
- Maintain organized records of all testing documentation and insights in a centralized repository.
- Provide clear, concise, and unbiased summaries of testing sessions to relevant stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Exceptional listening and observational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong written communication and transcription abilities.
- Familiarity with user experience principles and interface design best practices.
- Experience with qualitative data collection and synthesis.
- Proficiency in documentation tools and collaborative platforms (e.g., Google Docs, Confluence, Microsoft 365).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, English, Communications).
- Experience with UX research methodologies and usability testing software.
- Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles.
- Previous experience in a scribe, research assistant, or similar documentation-focused role.
- Familiarity with agile development processes.
