Job Description
Join the FedEx team as a Warehouse Associate in Memphis, Tennessee! We are looking for motivated individuals to contribute to our fast-paced and efficient warehouse operations. As a Warehouse Associate, you will be crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely handling of packages and freight, supporting the seamless flow of goods through our extensive network.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading freight, packages, and materials manually or with material handling equipment.
- Sorting, scanning, and organizing packages according to destination or type.
- Performing quality checks on shipments to ensure accuracy and prevent damage.
- Operating various warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (training provided if necessary).
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.
- Documenting inventory and movement of goods accurately.
- Adhering to strict timelines and service standards to ensure efficient operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb stairs/ladders for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to them.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
- Basic computer skills for scanning and data entry.
