Job Description
We are urgently seeking dedicated and compassionate Sitters to join our team in Chattanooga, TN, with an immediate start! This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about childcare, highly reliable, and able to provide a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children of various ages. As a Sitter with Bright Horizons, you will play a crucial role in supporting families, whether in private homes or within our center-based programs, ensuring peace of mind for parents and enriching experiences for children. This is a critical and immediate need, so we are looking for candidates who can begin as soon as tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive and safe supervision for children of all ages, ensuring their well-being at all times.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including creative play, reading, arts and crafts, and supervised outdoor adventures.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, adhering to any specific dietary restrictions or allergies communicated by parents.
- Assist children with homework and school-related activities as needed, providing a supportive learning environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe play area and living space, tidying up after activities.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with parents regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any notable observations or concerns.
- Follow all safety protocols, emergency procedures, and company policies to ensure the utmost safety of the children.
- Adhere to children's established routines, including nap times, meal times, and bedtime rituals.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, daycare assistant, or similar roles).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and parents.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for children and their development.
- Ability to manage multiple children and varying age groups effectively and calmly.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification for infants, children, and adults (or willingness to obtain immediately upon hire).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned locations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field.
- Advanced childcare certifications or training (e.g., professional nanny certification).
- Experience working with children who have special needs or specific learning styles.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, especially Spanish or other languages common in the community.
- Previous professional experience with a recognized childcare agency or educational institution.
