Job Description
Are you passionate about supporting new families during one of life’s most significant moments? Kaweah Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Weekend Maternity Support staff member. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to provide essential assistance to our maternity unit, ensuring a comfortable and supportive environment for mothers, newborns, and their families. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the patient experience, assisting clinical staff, and contributing to the overall well-being of our maternity patients on weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist nursing staff with non-clinical tasks to ensure smooth unit operations.
- Provide comfort and support to new mothers and their families, including emotional support and basic needs assistance.
- Help with patient transport within the maternity unit as needed.
- Ensure patient rooms are tidy, stocked, and comfortable.
- Assist with clerical duties, including organizing patient records and managing supplies.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries, directing them to appropriate clinical staff when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in the maternity ward.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong empathy and compassion for patients and families.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for weekend shifts.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
