Job Description
Join our dedicated team at NHS Grampian as a Hospital Porter, playing a crucial role in the smooth and efficient operation of our healthcare facilities in Aberdeen. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport patients between wards, departments, and clinic areas using appropriate equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, trolleys, beds), maintaining dignity and respect.
- Move medical equipment, laboratory samples, patient notes, medical supplies, and clinical waste according to established procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and infection control guidelines.
- Deliver and collect mail, parcels, and other internal communications throughout the hospital premises.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment, promptly reporting any hazards, spills, or equipment malfunctions.
- Provide empathetic and professional communication with patients, visitors, and staff, offering assistance and directions as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, infection control policies, and manual handling guidelines.
- Operate and maintain portering equipment, ensuring it is clean, in good working order, and readily available.
- Respond to urgent requests and emergency situations promptly and effectively, following defined protocols.
