Job Description

Corus Entertainment is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Podcast Production Assistant to join our growing digital audio team in Salmon Arm, BC. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in audio editing. You will play a crucial role in the post-production process of our diverse podcast lineup, learning directly from experienced professionals and contributing to high-quality audio content that reaches listeners across Canada. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of audio files for editing, including organizing raw recordings and supplementary materials.
- Learn and apply fundamental audio editing techniques, such as trimming, cutting, and basic noise reduction, under direct supervision.
- Support senior producers with asset management, including cataloging and archiving audio content.
- Perform quality control checks on edited segments to ensure technical specifications and creative standards are met.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving workflow and content quality.
- Research and compile sound effects, music, and other audio elements as required.
- Maintain accurate records of production progress and assist with administrative tasks related to podcast production.
- Continuously develop audio production skills through provided training and self-study.
Required Skills
- A strong passion for podcasts, audio storytelling, and digital media.
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer proficiency, including file management and cloud-based collaboration tools.
- High level of motivation, eagerness to learn, and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with any audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition) is a plus, but not required.
