Job Description

Corus Entertainment is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Podcast Production Assistant to join our growing digital audio team in Salmon Arm, BC. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with little to no prior experience in audio editing. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of audio files for editing, including organizing raw recordings and supplementary materials.
  • Learn and apply fundamental audio editing techniques, such as trimming, cutting, and basic noise reduction, under direct supervision.
  • Support senior producers with asset management, including cataloging and archiving audio content.
  • Perform quality control checks on edited segments to ensure technical specifications and creative standards are met.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving workflow and content quality.
  • Research and compile sound effects, music, and other audio elements as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of production progress and assist with administrative tasks related to podcast production.
  • Continuously develop audio production skills through provided training and self-study.

Required Skills

  • A strong passion for podcasts, audio storytelling, and digital media.
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including file management and cloud-based collaboration tools.
  • High level of motivation, eagerness to learn, and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with any audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition) is a plus, but not required.

  • Relevant coursework or certifications in media, communication, or audio production.
