Job Description
Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors? Home Instead in Land O’ Lakes, FL, is seeking a caring Senior Companion to join our team. This role offers flexible day shifts and weekly pay, perfect for those seeking work-life balance while providing essential support and companionship to elderly clients. As a Senior Companion, you will assist with daily activities, provide stimulating interaction, and ensure the well-being and safety of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as conversations, games, and hobbies.
- Assist clients with light housekeeping tasks, including tidying living areas, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Help with grocery shopping, errands, and transportation to appointments.
- Remind clients to take medications and stay hydrated.
- Observe and report any changes in client's health or behavior to the care coordinator.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients at all times.
Required Skills
- Proven empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help seniors.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a caregiving, companion, or senior support role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
