Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Laundry Assistant to join our industrial laundry facility in Moncton. This role involves performing routine tasks within a fast-paced environment, ensuring the efficient processing of large volumes of linen for our healthcare and hospitality clients. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, possess a strong work ethic, and be able to thrive in a team-oriented setting. This is a vital support role ensuring the continuous flow of clean, high-quality linen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort soiled linen by type and degree of soiling according to established procedures.
  • Load and unload industrial washing machines and dryers efficiently and safely.
  • Operate various laundry equipment, including feeders, folders, and ironers, after proper training.
  • Transport linen carts to and from various processing areas.
  • Inspect linen for quality and damage, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Fold, stack, and package clean linen accurately for distribution.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
  • Perform routine minor maintenance tasks on equipment as instructed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure daily production targets are met.

Required Skills

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of lifting and moving heavy loads (up to 25 kg) frequently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a laundry, warehouse, or industrial setting is an asset.
  • Experience operating industrial machinery.
  • First Aid and WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain).
