Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and culturally sensitive Museum Gallery Auditor to join our team in Pasco, WA. This unique role focuses on the careful observation and assessment of our gallery spaces, ensuring compliance with display protocols, security measures, and conservation standards. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a deep respect for historical artifacts and the cultural context they represent, and the ability to work independently within a quiet, contemplative environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular, systematic audits of museum galleries and exhibition spaces.
  • Verify the correct placement, labeling, and condition of artifacts and exhibits.
  • Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, light exposure) within galleries.
  • Ensure security protocols, including display case integrity and alarm systems, are observed.
  • Document findings thoroughly, reporting any discrepancies, damage, or concerns to relevant departments.
  • Assist with inventory checks and cataloging verification as needed.
  • Adhere to all conservation guidelines and ethical standards for cultural heritage.
  • Collaborate with curatorial, collections, and security teams to resolve audit findings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for gallery management and preservation practices.
