Job Description

Home Instead in Sacramento, CA, is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Home Companions. No prior experience is necessary – we believe in investing in our team members! We provide comprehensive paid training to equip you with all the skills you need to succeed. This role involves traveling to our clients’ homes throughout the Sacramento area, offering companionship and essential support to help them maintain their independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to clients.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including tidying living areas and laundry.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed.
- Engage clients in stimulating activities such as reading, games, and conversation.
- Provide safe transportation for clients to appointments, errands, and social outings.
- Assist with personal care tasks, which may include bathing, dressing, and grooming (depending on client needs and training received).
- Monitor and report any changes in a client's health or behavior to the care manager.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for clients.
- Document care activities accurately and timely.
Required Skills
- A genuine compassionate and patient nature with a desire to help others.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation, as travel to client homes is required.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- No prior experience is required – we provide all necessary training!
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a volunteer role or caring for family members.
- First Aid and CPR certification (not required, but a plus; training can be provided).
