Job Description
Waste Management is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals for the role of Part-time Bin Collector. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking for consistent weekend work with early start times and competitive pay. As a Bin Collector, you will be an integral part of our community service, ensuring the timely and efficient collection of waste and recycling bins. We value safety, efficiency, and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate collection vehicles safely and efficiently along designated routes.
- Lift and empty residential and commercial waste and recycling bins into collection vehicles.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, especially regarding vehicle operation and waste handling.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of collection vehicles and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the vehicle.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding route status or issues.
- Provide excellent service to the community by ensuring all designated bins are collected.
- Work independently and as part of a team to complete daily collection routes.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy bins repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality for early weekend shifts.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license (CDL Class B preferred, but not always required for all roles; specific requirements may vary).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in waste collection, labor, or a physically demanding role.
- Familiarity with local geographic areas and collection routes.
