Job Description

Ubisoft is looking for an enthusiastic and meticulous Junior Quality Control Tester to join our team in Reno, NV. This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to start their career in the video game industry, providing essential support in identifying and documenting bugs, glitches, and usability issues across our exciting titles. You will play a crucial part in the final stages of development, ensuring the highest quality standards before our games reach millions of players.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases to identify bugs, defects, and inconsistencies in console and PC games.
- Accurately document, categorize, and prioritize bugs using an internal bug tracking system.
- Provide clear, concise, and thorough bug reports, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Communicate effectively with development teams regarding identified issues and potential solutions.
- Perform regression testing to ensure that fixed bugs do not re-emerge and that new features are fully functional.
- Verify adherence to design specifications, technical requirements, and platform guidelines.
- Contribute to improving existing test cases and developing new ones based on project needs.
- Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- A deep passion for video games, particularly console and PC titles, with extensive playing experience.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with various operating systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow within the industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with various game genres and platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PC).
- Experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) is a plus, but not required.
- Previous experience in a QA role, even in a personal or academic capacity.
- Understanding of the game development lifecycle.
