Job Description
This unique opportunity is designed for dedicated current UPS employees ready to advance their careers and become essential Feeder Driver Associates. UPS is offering a fully paid CDL training program, equipping you with the skills and certification needed to operate tractor-trailer combinations safely and efficiently. As a Feeder Driver Associate, you will be responsible for transporting trailers between UPS facilities, ensuring the timely and secure movement of packages within our network. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, adherence to DOT regulations, and a dedication to maintaining UPS’s high standards of service. Key Responsibilities
- Participate fully and successfully complete the company-sponsored CDL training program.
- Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations (doubles/triples as required) in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies post-certification.
- Transport freight efficiently between UPS hubs, service centers, and customer locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and vehicle records.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding schedule, delays, and issues.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (prior to CDL training).
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Excellent attendance and reliability.
- Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics for pre-trip inspections.
- Ability to lift and move packages and freight as required (up to 70 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a driving or logistics role within UPS.
- Familiarity with local and regional road networks.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Proven track record of professionalism and customer service (if applicable in prior roles).
