Job Description

WPP is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Social Media Comment Moderator to join our remote team on a part-time basis, specifically for evening and weekend shifts. In this vital role, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing comments and interactions across various social media platforms for our diverse portfolio of clients. Your keen eye and quick judgment will ensure a positive, safe, and engaging online environment, upholding brand guidelines and community standards. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to global brands from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor social media channels for incoming comments, mentions, and direct messages across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok).
  • Approve, hide, or delete comments according to established brand guidelines and community standards, ensuring a positive user experience.
  • Identify and escalate sensitive issues, potential crises, or user-generated content violations to appropriate internal teams.
  • Engage with users by liking comments and providing appropriate, pre-approved responses where necessary.
  • Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality regarding client information and sensitive content.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and client service teams to refine moderation strategies and guidelines.
  • Compile basic reports on moderation activity and flag common themes or issues.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of various social media platforms and their respective community guidelines.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive content professionally.
  • Ability to make quick, sound judgments under pressure.
  • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home workspace.
  • Familiarity with social media moderation tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.

  • Previous experience in online community management, content moderation, or customer service.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing or advertising industry standards.
