Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Entry-Level Textile Chemist to join our innovative team in Lubbock, Texas. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for textile science and a desire to contribute to the future of the fashion and apparel industry. As a Textile Chemist, you will play a crucial role in our research and development efforts, focusing on the chemical aspects of textile materials, processes, and finishes. You will work closely with experienced scientists and engineers to develop new materials, improve existing products, and ensure quality and sustainability standards are met. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic laboratory environment and excellent growth potential within a leading global company.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory experiments and tests on textile fibers, yarns, and fabrics to analyze their chemical and physical properties.
- Assist in the development and optimization of new textile chemical formulations, dyes, and finishing processes.
- Perform quality control analyses on raw materials and finished textile products to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Document experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately and meticulously.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Research emerging textile technologies, sustainable practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to problem-solving and troubleshooting efforts related to textile chemistry issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory workspace.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Textile Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Strong understanding of organic and inorganic chemistry principles.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques and equipment used in chemical analysis.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in data collection, analysis, and report writing.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or academic project experience in textile science or chemical research.
- Knowledge of textile dyeing, printing, and finishing processes.
