Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and driven Junior Music Publicist with a strong social media focus to join our dynamic team in Newport, RI. This entry-level role is perfect for someone eager to launch their career in music public relations, working closely with established artists and emerging talent. You will play a crucial role in supporting PR campaigns, drafting compelling content, and managing social media outreach to amplify our clients’ presence. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior publicists in the development and execution of comprehensive PR strategies for music artists and events.
  • Draft engaging press releases, media alerts, pitches, and other promotional materials.
  • Actively monitor media coverage and social media conversations, compiling reports and analytics.
  • Manage and create content for clients' social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook), driving engagement and growth.
  • Research and identify relevant media contacts, influencers, and tastemakers across traditional and digital channels.
  • Coordinate interviews, photo shoots, and other promotional activities.
  • Support event planning and on-site execution for album launches, concerts, and press events.
  • Maintain organized client files, media lists, and project timelines.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and active engagement with major social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, etc.).
  • A foundational understanding of the music industry and its current trends.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven agency environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous internship experience in public relations, music management, social media marketing, or a related creative field.
  • Familiarity with PR measurement and media monitoring tools (e.g., Cision, Muck Rack, Sprout Social).
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills for social media content (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
