Job Description
As the EA Sports FC Playtest Lead – Management focus, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our flagship football franchise. You will lead a dedicated team of playtesters, ensuring the highest quality and player experience for EA Sports FC. This role requires a blend of hands-on playtesting expertise, strong leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to manage resources, schedules, and deliverables. You will be responsible for defining playtest objectives, recruiting and training playtesters, analyzing feedback, and presenting actionable insights to development teams. Your work will directly influence game design, features, and overall player satisfaction, making this a critical role in the success of EA Sports FC.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of playtesters, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Develop and execute comprehensive playtest plans and strategies for EA Sports FC.
- Oversee the scheduling, coordination, and execution of all playtesting activities.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new playtesters, ensuring they understand test protocols and reporting standards.
- Analyze playtest data, qualitative feedback, and behavioral patterns to identify critical issues, usability problems, and areas for improvement.
- Generate clear, concise, and actionable reports summarizing playtest findings for development, design, and production teams.
- Collaborate closely with game designers, producers, and engineers to integrate playtest feedback into the development cycle.
- Champion the player experience, ensuring that feedback is effectively communicated and understood by stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry trends, competitive titles, and playtesting methodologies.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in game quality assurance or playtesting, with at least 1 year in a leadership or management role.
- In-depth knowledge and passion for football/soccer and the EA Sports FC franchise.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate raw data into actionable insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in test plan creation, bug reporting, and using bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Game Design, Computer Science, Communications).
- Experience with various playtesting methodologies (e.g., usability testing, focus groups, A/B testing).
- Familiarity with game development pipelines and agile methodologies.
- Experience with data visualization tools for reporting playtest metrics.
- Previous experience working on a live service game or sports title.
