Job Description
Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Forks as a Weekend After-School Assistant, focusing on childcare and youth development. This part-time role is perfect for individuals passionate about working with children and making a positive impact in their lives. You will be instrumental in supervising club members, facilitating engaging activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment during our weekend programs. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of children during weekend after-school programs and activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist in planning and leading age-appropriate recreational, educational, and creative activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment where all club members feel welcome and supported.
- Maintain discipline and resolve conflicts constructively, adhering to Club policies and procedures.
- Help with program setup, cleanup, and organization of supplies and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with club members, parents, and staff.
- Monitor attendance and ensure accurate record-keeping as required.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Passion for working with children and youth development
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of child development principles
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children in a structured environment (e.g., camp counselor, tutor, babysitter)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Some college coursework in education, child development, social work, or related fields
