Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced WFH Social Media Manager with a strong focus on Political & Policy Strategy to join our dynamic team. This is a 100% remote position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing our social media strategy for various political campaigns, advocacy groups, and policy initiatives. You will play a crucial role in shaping online narratives, engaging target audiences, and translating complex policy issues into compelling digital content. A deep understanding of the U.S. political landscape, current events, and digital trends is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies aligned with specific political campaigns, advocacy goals, and policy objectives.
- Create, curate, and manage engaging content (text, image, video) across various social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Monitor social media trends, political discourse, news cycles, and competitive activities to identify opportunities and inform strategy.
- Manage social media calendars, scheduling posts, and ensuring timely and consistent content delivery.
- Analyze social media performance data, generate comprehensive reports, and provide actionable insights for optimization.
- Actively engage with online communities, respond to comments and messages, and manage online reputation effectively.
- Collaborate closely with communications, policy, and campaign teams to ensure message alignment and integrated strategy.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices, platform changes, and emerging digital tools and technologies.
- Identify and mitigate potential online crises or negative sentiment through proactive engagement and rapid response strategies.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of proven experience in social media management, with significant exposure to political campaigns, advocacy, or public policy contexts.
- Strong understanding of the U.S. political landscape, current events, legislative processes, and key policy issues.
- Expertise in managing and optimizing content across major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives and persuasive messages.
- Proficiency in social media analytics tools and the ability to interpret data to inform strategic decisions.
- Strategic thinking, excellent problem-solving abilities, and strong attention to detail.
- Basic proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite basics for image/video editing).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Direct experience working on political campaigns at a state or national level, or for a public policy organization.
- Familiarity with digital advertising and audience targeting within social media platforms.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices as they relate to social media content and discoverability.
- Experience with crisis communications and rapid response in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
