Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Cellar Storage Planner with a strong focus on racks and bins management to join our team in Morgantown, WV. This role is crucial for optimizing the storage and retrieval of our valuable products, ensuring efficient space utilization, and maintaining precise inventory control within our cellar and warehouse facilities. The ideal candidate will be adept at planning storage layouts, managing bin locations, and coordinating with operations teams to streamline product flow. This is a hands-on role requiring keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement optimal storage plans for cellar products, utilizing various rack and bin configurations.
- Manage inventory locations within the cellar, ensuring accurate placement and easy retrieval.
- Coordinate with production, warehousing, and logistics teams to plan for incoming and outgoing product movements.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory, update bin locations, and generate reports.
- Monitor storage capacity and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and space optimization.
- Conduct regular audits of storage areas to ensure compliance with safety standards and inventory accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, including misplaced items or space constraints.
- Collaborate on projects related to new racking installations, bin system upgrades, or warehouse layout redesigns.
- Provide training and guidance to warehouse personnel on proper storage procedures and system usage.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse planning, inventory management, or logistics.
- Proven experience with rack and bin storage systems, including design and optimization.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to coordinate across multiple departments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physical warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement efficient storage solutions.
- Competency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in the beverage manufacturing or distribution industry.
- Certification in inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles in a warehouse setting.
