Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Bakery Counter Hands to join our Santa Clarita team for morning shifts. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, friendly environment and appreciate having their afternoons free! As a Bakery Counter Hand, you will be the face of Porto’s, providing our customers with a delightful experience as they choose from our wide array of baked goods and beverages. No prior experience is necessary; we provide comprehensive training for motivated candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their selections of pastries, cakes, and beverages.
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, handle cash and credit card transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery counter, display cases, and dining areas.
- Prepare coffee, espresso, and other beverages as per customer orders.
- Ensure proper stocking and rotation of products, notifying management of low inventory.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues with a positive attitude.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
Required Skills
- Ability to work early morning shifts (e.g., starting at 5 AM or 6 AM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in food service, retail, or a bakery setting.
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
- Passion for baked goods and customer satisfaction.
