Job Description
Are you a student looking for a dynamic part-time opportunity in a fast-paced retail environment? Target is seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Student Stockist. In this role, you will be crucial in ensuring our large format retail store in Tallahassee, FL, is always well-stocked, organized, and ready for our guests. You’ll work behind the scenes and on the sales floor, handling merchandise, processing shipments, and maintaining a clean and orderly presentation. This position offers flexible hours to accommodate your academic schedule and is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a leading retail company.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and process incoming merchandise shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Stock shelves, displays, and storage areas, ensuring products are placed in designated locations.
- Organize and maintain the backroom and sales floor to ensure a clean, safe, and organized shopping environment.
- Assist with inventory management, including counting, tagging, and reporting discrepancies.
- Support sales floor team by ensuring products are readily available for guests.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and balers safely and according to company guidelines.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Contribute to a positive and productive work atmosphere.
- Learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies related to stock management.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy merchandise (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Basic communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
